NaI(Tl) Scintillation Detector with 1.5 x 1.5" Crystal

Great general purpose gamma detector with encapsulated 38 x 38 mm NaI(Tl) crystal, coupled to a PMT with integral voltage divider and fitted with an industry standard SHV connector.

The whole scintillation detector is housed in a spun aluminium housing and finished in pearl white powder coating. The detector comes standard with an SHV male connector, compatible with GS and many other spectrometers, but can also be supplied with the older style HV-BNC if required.

A 1.5" sodium iodide detector is a good all round detector with 100% efficiency in the lower energy range falling off to around 60% at 662 keV. This doesn't mean it is blind to higher energes, it can still detect the higher energy gamma, but some gamma rays will pass right through the crystal and not be counted. That said, the 1.5" is a convenient size and easy to work with.
