Pity about the Keithley 150 - very nice instrument!
Maybe you should take the post down, I didn't notice the date when I replied to it!

Re: Steven's garage sale
Very interested in the Keithley 150 Microvolt meter if it's still available? I'm in South Australia.
I would be interested in the NIM crate and contents too, but probably too heavy to post.

Re: Potassium Chloride Salt - Radioactive Salt
I don't know about the Radiacode 103 device, which is what the spectrum I posted was recorded with, all the specs state is that the scintillator is CsI - it can't be more than around 1cm^3 though, as the device is quite small. It gives some nice peaks at 1588, 911 and 583 with thoriated tungsten (po...

Re: Potassium Chloride Salt - Radioactive Salt
I'm confused. I see a significant 40-K peak at 1461keV in my local background using both a home-made BGO detector and a radiacode 103. I thought I would like to get a better look at the peak, so bought 500g of pure, food grade, KCl and placed the detectors on top of it. After around 30 hours collect...

Hello from Lewiston South Australia
Such an interesting forum - glad I joined. I live on 2.5 acres in semi-rural South Australia, and have always had an interest in many areas of physics and electronics. I built my own gamma spectrometer (which I still use) around 10 years ago using a Hamamatsu R1548 photomultiplier tube and a BGO sci...
