Re: ProSpect (Canberra) quick guide
Pieter, I think I have it figured out but it wasn't what I was originally thinking. The only real way to control the horizontal (energy) is by varying the high voltage to the probe. I had to drop the voltage down quite a bit to get the range I wanted but it worked. Thanks for your assistance. Bob WA...

Re: ProSpect (Canberra) quick guide
Pieter, Hopefully this question isn't too stupid but I want to make sure I understand this properly. If I choose the default calibration and I choose 1024 channels with a coarse gain of 2 and a fine gain of 1, I should get a displayed graph with a horizontal range of 0 to 512 KeV. The way that I und...

Re: ProSpect (Canberra) quick guide
Pieter or anyone one else for that matter, Regarding the ProSpect software, do you know how to increase the x axis MeV range? I seem to be stuck at somewhere between 1.5 MeV and 2.0 MeV, maximum resolution. I would like to expand it so I can display information out to about 3.0 MeV, but no matter wh...

Re: ProSpect (Canberra) quick guide
Steven,
Thanks for the info. I grabbed a Mac and had no problems watching the video. I had been using a Windows machine with Firefox and it just didn't seem to like the video format. Thanks again.

Re: ProSpect (Canberra) quick guide
Pieter, I realize this is a rather old post but it would be nice if I could view this video. The link takes me to the video but it never plays, I just get a spinning wheel of cheese. Is there a newer link that works?. I just obtained a Canberra Lynx unit and a video regarding the operation of the Pr...

Valentin,
Definitely keep us posted with your repair updates. I'll have an idea where to look when I fry mine ( I do things like that occasionally ).

Re: Is there a way to find out if I fried the PMT, the GS-PRO, or both?
I agree that the problem is most likely in the GS-Pro but the LM-358 should be able to handle +12 volts because they are rated for +/- 16 volts or 32 Volts single rail. Steve, do you use a regulator and/or zeners in your circuit design? Maybe an over voltage in the high voltage circuit area? Bob WA7...

Re: GS-PRO with an external power supply
If you want to reduce USB power supply switching noise you can use a D.C. power source (battery). I use a Tekkeon variable output rechargeable D.C. power source. When charged up the Tekkeon will run the GS-Pro for 3 to 4 days and has almost no noise at 5 volts D.C. output. I use the Tekkeon and a St...

I've answered my own question by paying attention to your document (800 Volts). Note to self, Read the included documents more closely,
