Hello guys,
This will probably one of my last messages on this forum.
After many years it is time for me to say goodbye to all of you.
My retirement is within a few months and that is for me the time
to quit with the detector hobby, the main reason is that I will not
have access to any new info on crystals and/or other interesting things
and I cannot use the facilities of Scionix anymore to build and test detectors/crystals.
Have been working as a proffecional with all possible type of detectors for more than 38 years
so that is enough for me.
But it was fun here on the forum and I hope that you have found my input
Interesting, I tried to keep you with new info interested in this nice hobby.
I still have some projects that I already started or planned to do, but not sure
if I am going to finish them(so much to do, so little time).
My plans are to sell most if not all my detectors and other stuff that I
collected, build and refurbished over the years and that is a lot, boxes full of it
but it is time for me to clean it up.
So if you are interested in something like crystals , detectors, pmt’s or other stuff
you can always send me a pm and I can see what I got, everything will be tested so you
get it good working order , I will keep the prices fair.
Don’t have plans to make a complete list with but maybe a short version
with some highlights.
So it is time for me to enjoy my “freedom” relax and focus on my other hobby’s one of them is
my radio (ham) hobby.
I know that many of you are also radio amateurs so maybe we will meet
somewhere on HF, I am active with the call PD9RB most times as /qrp.
So for all of you, keep the hobby alive and enjoy and have lots of fun with it,
It is time for the new generation to do the fun stuff.
I say take care to all of you.
Cheers,
Luuk
Saying goodbye to all of you!

Hey Luuk,
It's just your retirement, but your post made me also feel a bit sad. Your contribution was always of great value and I believe everybody here, and in the other forums you were active, highly appreciated it. You will be surely missed here. I'm personally thankful for your professional advice on several occasions and the hardware you repaired (the large NaI detector) and made for me - the best scintillation detector I've ever had (CsI).
I hope nevertheless, even if rarely, you'll still return to this hobby and forum from time to time.
Enjoy your retirement!

It was a Great few years Luuk,
Hope retirement treats you well, you definitely deserve it.
You were a great resource to the forum and many other places.
I might ask about detectors later, I'm kinda sad to hear the news, but it's been a long time coming.
Take care, we wont forget you.

Luuk,
One never gets too old for science, and retirement just means an opportunity to do something else, but you have a lot of knowledge about working with scintillation crystals, so I hope you will still check in from time to time 😊
Best of luck in your upcoming retirement...

To all,
I would like to say thank you for all your positive reactions and kind words, that was really heart-warming and did me good, and also for all PM’s that I got.
Interesting that so many old contacts are still on the forum, very nice.
I will not be very active on the forum anymore but maybe I write a comment now and then.
And for questions you can always send me a PM if I can I will try to answer it, I still have all my contacts in the detector world that I can use.
Thanks guys and don’t forget to keep the hobby alive!
