Silicone for HV

Hi, Does anyone know if regular Dow 795 Conducts electricity, I took apart a Xray Scintilator, to replace the Connector to a BNC, but the previous connector was Caulked in with silicone to block light, can anyone share what type of silicone they've used or, if regular silicone is good enough for the 2000V isolation. I work in the Glass and Glazing industry so I have a ton of extra caulking lying around mostly structural and waterproof sealents but i assume they are electrically Isolators.

Patrick,

I see silicone used in many high voltage applications, including inside my 40kV power supply. I don't know for sure if this is standard Dow Corning 795 but it sure looks like it. Once fully cured I think it should be a good dielectric.
