Hello from Austria

Post by Klaus » 25 Feb 2025, 00:35

Hi, I'm Klaus from Upper Austria.
I'm just a hobbyist and fell into the deep rabbit hole of spectroscopy last year.
Now I'm planning to get something from Gammaspectular, but am not sure what exactly I want to have (LaBr3 or 2 inch CsI, complete Kit, digital or the other detector, set,...).
Besides spectroscopy my hobbies are programming (Python + a little Swift), electronic tinkering, lately especially high voltage stuff, mineral collecting and many more.
Some of you may already know me as Promethium from another community or from a spectrum viewer software (took it down, making something better).
I will go through this forum the next few weeks to get an idea of the Gammaspectacular devices/detectors and of you girls and guys.
Hope I can decide what to get soon, so I can step up the spectroscopy hobby. :)

Welcome to the forum and yes I recognise the name Prometheus. You can contact me here via the forum PM system or preferably by email through the Contact Us link on my site.

Looking forward to see your contributions..
